It is crucial to check that the wooden stick of the bow maintains its curvature when the screw is tightened and the hairs are stretched. Having a flat wood will tire you out while working and cause hardships in string transitions. Crafting a violin bow requires just as much skill as making the violin itself. Bowstrings are divided into two, namely synthetic and horse tail. The acoustic effect of horse tail strings is indisputable. Over time, the bowstrings can wear out due to factors related to contact with hands, over-tightening of the screw, leaving the bow tightened after playing, and frictional forces. As the number of strings on the bow decreases, playing the instrument becomes increasingly challenging. In this case, the strings need to be replaced. Replacement must be performed by an expert violin-maker. After each performance, the bow must be loosened and kept loose in its box.
